News Flash

Your intrepid author has the flu.

And is, of course, still abysmally late on THE BLOODIEST QUEEN -- which might wind up titled THE MEDICI QUEEN in the U.S. as well as elsewhere. We're looking at a January delivery and a Winter 2009 pub date.

Happily, I write in bed with a laptop. When I'm sick, I usually get more pages written because I stay put.

Please send comfort food.

Ron:

I would, but I don't think my pizza shop will deliver that far. Pizza is a comfort food isn't it? Get well soon.

Hey, we could try. I go really go for a barbecued chicken pizza... I'm not a big chicken soup fan.

Seriously, thanks for the sentiment, Ron.

Becky:

Hi Jeanne! Ron is my buddy...he's a great guy. Hope you are feeling better

Love,
Becky

Becky!

I'm feeling better now, thanks -- but George has got it now, poor boy. And just had shoulder surgery two days ago (torn rotator cuff); he's got his arm in a sling and can hardly blow his own nose.

Ron obviously IS a great guy -- loves animals, offers comfort food. That scores high in my book.

Miss you, kiddo.

Ron:

Awww... now I'm blushing. :)

Sarah:

Winter 2009? But that's so far away; how can I survive until then? Alright, alright, you probably feel pressured enough already. ;-)
Glad you're feeling better!

Sarah,

I know, I feel so guilty -- but it's the first of the year 2009. It takes 9 months to a year for the publisher to get the manuscript into print.

I *promise* that there won't be such a long wait on the *next* book... and I've been thinking about asking my publisher whether I could post some excerpts from BLOODIEST QUEEN on my site.

Jeanne thanks for keeping us posted. Sorry to hear about George. Bloodiest Queen sounds a great title but of course I'm sure I'd care less what the title is once I start reading. It's nice to know you're writing blogs now and then. Hope your holidays went well.

Thanks, Nolon, nice to hear from you. We had nice, laid-back holidays (and are still having them, despite working during the days). My best friend for life is visiting us, so I'm really enjoying having her here.
